Why I Love the Crock Pot
I don't know who invented the slow cooker. I ought to find out, so I can
pay homage to him for his wondrous invention. :-D Because of this thing,
we can all go to the park in the afternoon, and stay for as long as we
jolly-well want! Just go home whenever we get hungry, because the Crock
Pot let you make dinner in the morning, before you were completely logey
and fatigued! I need more Crock Pot recipes. Oh, in case you're
wondering why our Crock Pot looks so enormous, I'll tell you. It IS
actually really big. That's on purpose. We registered for that when we
got married, because the plan was to have tons of kids, eventually. As
many as we could afford and still maintain our sanity as parents. That's
still the plan. We'll see if we can pull it off. Right now we can afford
one...kid, I mean. Oh, and we have exactly one - perfect! Next year,
with Levi in grad school, according to current calculations, we'll be
able to afford...um...zero. We're not worried, though. We know people
who have done this; By 'this' I mean Dad in grad school, Mom raising
kids, and everyone still had food, clothes, and a roof over their heads.
We aren't sure exactly how it will work for our family, but we're
confident that it WILL work. We're totally amazed at, and grateful for,
the blessings we've received in the almost two years that we've been
married. These are too many to list, but include our car which was so
graciously given to us, and which came as an answer to prayer; having
Levi's family close by, which has meant frequent free babysitting that
saved my sanity on several occasions, help with moving, loads of fun on
holidays, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing you have family
close by; Levi's current job, which has allowed us to live in a
beautiful and safe neighborhood, has allowed me to spend big chunks of
time every day with my husband, and which as allowed us to pay for
another amazing blessing...the P-nut. She is the most awesome little
person. We don't like to imagine our lives without her. Sammy is a
challenge, but also a perpetual source of fun and surprises. But all of
that has very little to do with the Crock Pot, so I'll shut up.
“Sometimes only one person is missing and the whole world seems depopulated.”
~Alphonse de Lamartine
There were raised concerns, a voice shouted in the desert. Where is Hannah? Is she well? Oh please, let her be alive! (Okay, so one person sent me an e-mail...)
So, folks, dear people and all the midgets of Neverland. I'm well, I'm alive (as of now at least).
It's just that the photography-bug has kind of left the building. Not entirely, but almost. I can't find the bokeh-fairy, nor the shallow dof-wizard, and people, those were the ones who inspired me.
So now I'm kind of out there, just.... out there. Taking some snaps, yes, but flickr-worthy? Nah.
It's okay though. Doing something else, taking a break. Maybe finding different areas of photography than just bokeh et al.
Flickr's not dead to me, and I'm sure I'll be back, sooner or later.
Until then, my dear friends, do take care of you, rejoice and recoup, fill the world with love and laughter. Keep flickring for me to, 'kay?
Love you all lots!
(and hey, I was laughing my ass off when I found that quote, please do not think I'm going all Brisson on you here ;) )
